Orthopaedic technical aids sessions
Many children and young people with neurological function disorders depend on orthopaedic technical aids such as insoles, braces, splints, etc., which give them a more secure joint function, a more upright posture and better economy of movement and thus ultimately allow them to participate more fully in society.
In the orthopaedic technical aids sessions, a doctor specialising in sensorimotor function, a sports scientist and a physiotherapist from the kbo-Kinderzentrum München work as an interdisciplinary team with a specialist orthopaedic technician to review the indication for a technical aid and to define what is specifically required here.
Subsequently, at regular follow-up sessions, the orthopaedic technical aid provided to the child is checked to review its effectiveness and adjustments are made if necessary. With orthopaedic technical aids for the lower limbs, the results of the 3D gait analysis are sometimes also taken into account.
