ADD/ADHD | Parent training in kbo-Kinderzentrum München
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD) is one of the most frequently diagnosed disorders in children and young adults today. Attention deficit disorders can occur with and without hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD). Figures for the proportion of children and young people affected varies between three and 15 percent. The disorder is diagnosed in boys around three to nine times more frequently than in girls. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders (ADD/ADHD) are characterised by impairments in attention, impulse control and activity. Anomalies generally appear before the age of 6. The individual areas of the child's life (family, nursery school, school and peer group) are often affected to differing degrees. Alongside the typical symptoms, additional anomalies such as aggressive behaviour, oppositional behaviour, defiance, emotional disorders, developmental disorders, impairment of school performance, anxiety and social behaviour disorders can occur. This frequently also leads to problems with family relationships and with interaction within the family.
